Children's Exposure to Violence

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

The Safe Start Initiative supports effective community action to prevent and reduce the impact of violence on children. Children experience violence both as direct victims and as witnesses who hear, see, or experience the aftermath of violent events in the home, school, and community. To gain a deeper understanding of this issue, please view Addressing Children's Exposure to Violence in the Context of Child Abuse Prevention.
